14 week update

Ok so we are on week 14 already..

Ash:
Im doing well, finally this week! Im feeling better with only the occasional headache and nausea...which is amazing, i do have to say! my emotions have been running me in circles this last week. I cant seem to get a hold on them. I break down for the most abserd things. Baby's been kicking and groovin' at night in the prayer room..haha I love the environment im in, to be able to sit in the prayer room and just soak for my self and have baby fed on the worship and prayer! All i can pray for our little one is that he/she would be filled from the womb, like John the baptist, and even more. Its such a blessing!!

Baby: Lemon
Baby is the size of a Lemon, 3.5 in and about 1.5 oz. Little one is busy with thumb sucking, toe wiggling, and (not so cute but equally amazing) making urine and breathing amniotic fluid as the liver, kidneys and spleen continue to develop. Lanugo (thin, downy hair) is growing all over the body for warmth.

Ok so these are week 13 photos, which i should have just waited tomorrow i will be 14 weeks.. haha oh well
Hopefully next week well be able to get some better ones OUTSIDE, by the time we have to take the pictures its the end of our day.

Week 13: A pop, kick, and a smile

So it is finally week 13, which means 2nd trimester! Praise the Lord!
Its been such a great week for the most part. Im GROWING, and
feeling huge, haha, cant imagine when im bigger. Its been an exciting week!

~I've POPPED! Its very much obvious im preggo now. I even told my mom and
she made me send a picture, and then still made me send one of my bare belly. She couldn't believe it! It seriously happened over night! Im loving my belly for sure!! Even though you can see the indentation of my belly button through my clothes...haha!

~My hips have begun to spread. Dan was taking my picture for the blog and
noticed, even before i did, and then by the next day i was super sore and feeling it...

~Im pretty sure i have felt the baby kick...!? Still not completely sure at this point.
I have felt twitches every few days for about a week now, but still dont know for sure.
Im sure ti will be here soon, and cant wait. Most nights or mornings i lay in bed and just
pray to feel baby in there.

~By the time week 12, im saying like the first day hit, all my nausea was gone and i have
had a bit more energy. Its been wonderful. truly a blessing!

~This week has been really hard, as far as a 6 day, tomorrow 7 day, continual headache, that
seems every night turns into a full blown migraine, nausea, strobe light vision, light and
even the dark hurts. So after about three days i was told to take some Sudafed blah blah blah and see if that helps, if not i needed to come in. So i tried it all, and nothing SO Tomorrow (tues. 17th) im headed in to get this all taken care of. So we'll see what happens. Hopefully it works!

BABY this week: size of a PEACH

Baby is forming teeth and vocal cords... Is approaching normal proportions, with a head now only one third the size of the body. Intestines are in the process of moving from the umbilical cord to baby's tummy. (Much more convenient.)

My new Addiction

Hey everyone, i just finished eating my new addiction...And think its SO good i would like to share!
Its called: Broiled Grapefruit...Doesn't sound good but look at the recipe, its for 8 servings but we only do one grapefruit so me and hubby can share, and its a wonderful snack!!! I tweaked the recipe a little bit, and did the cinnamon and sugar mixed together and all through out the sections, i also added a little bit more butter cause its better that way in my opinion. Healthy, and easy! ENJOY, and let me know what you think, or at least comment, it makes me want to keep posting..haha

Broiled Grapefruit

INGREDIENTS

• 4 grapefruit
• 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
• 1 tablespoon white sugar
• 4 teaspoons butter

DIRECTIONS

1. Preheat your oven's broiler.
2. Cut the grapefruits in half, and use a small serrated knife to cut out the sections in the halves. Spoon the sections and juice into a bowl, then scrape out all of the remaining thick skins and pulp. Spoon the sections from the bowl back into the halves. This is best done one half at a time.
3. Sprinkle sugar and cinnamon over the top of each grapefruit half, adjusting as you see fit. Dot with butter. Place the halves on a cookie sheet.
4. Broil for 3 to 5 minutes, until the butter is melted and sugar is starting to turn brown.
5. Enjoy, with Hubby (added by me) :)
   

Week 12 update

Week 12 is finally here, and the end of the first trimester! I have to say i have been awaiting this day for some time now, hopefully this will mean my nausea and all will start going away and i will really be able to enjoy the rest of the pregnancy.

I have been doing better with the medication the Dr. perscribed me for my morning sickness. I have been able to eat more, but still on a strict time line, for right now. The medication makes me REALLY tired, that's just how it is, i feel more and more like the first few weeks of pregnancy and on top of a sleeping pill. I feel like all i do right now is sleep. haha My tummy is still getting hairry, (dan likes to joke that its a boy and takes after him, thats why im so hairry right now, if you know dan you know what im talking about!) My nails, hair, (all of it), and anything else is growing at te speed of light, thanks to my prenatels! Im doing much better with my emotions, they are not anywhere close to how they were even two weeks ago. Im sure Dan cant complain!

Baby, is about the size of a plum. As I
move into the second trimester, baby shifts
into the growth and maturation stage. After
weeks in the critical development stage,almost all of baby's systems are fully formed. The Baby's brain can now send and transmit messages to the rest of the body. The movements aare much more purposeful and meaningful in the weeks and months ahead!

First App.

Today we had our first app. and already so many people are asking me to update!

We met our midwife today, she is absolutely everything i wanted in our delivery! I feel so blessed even by her. A little background on her: her name is Deb Bersano, and she is a little bit older, has have over 800 deliveries, she works only with and in the hospital setting, along with a practitioner IF any problems during delivery do occur. She is with me in the delivery room the entire labor and has not missed any of her babies, and one of the biggest ups is about 90% of her deliveries the women dont tear!! Today she was called down to my app. from the delivery room and had just delivered two others that night, she hadn't been home in two days! (the commitment!!)
While she was going through all our paper work she noticed we were in ministry and we talked about that a bit, which she said she lets all her patients know that she is very upfront with her religion and prays before everyone of her deliveries, to bring the angels in the room..haha yay!
She loves her job and almost cries at every birth with the new breath.. She was Super knowledgeable with all my symptoms she told me exactly why and what was going on and also much more advice and wisdom. We love her and she is so down to earth.

As for me everything with the check up was absolutely perfect and better then most girls she sees! (amen) When they weighed me i was 12 pounds LESS then when i got pregnant..not good!
When was telling Deb about my nausea and sickness and she told me a few ideas, after i told her my weight loss she quickly prescribed me medication, which i have to say i am so relieved! Hopefully i will fatten up! Then we tried to listen for the heartbeat, which she couldn't find..........THEN there it was!!!!!! She looked at me a little shocked and said "Whoa, thats one strong, heathy baby!" The relief and sheer joy washed over me as i listened to my babys little heart pounding away. Tears burst form my eyes unexpected and everything seemed so surreal and right at the same time. i still dont quite have words for the moment...

I scheduled our next app. and its March 31st, with and ultrasound. They said they would do the check up at the same time since we drive a good distance to the hospital. Which was good for us. We had to go get my blood tests taken care of, but in another building across town, which went fast and easy.

I do have to say after hearing our little one, we ran to hobbly lobby, mainly me looking for nursery stuff. haha With no intentions of buying anything, i got so many cute ideas for myself, and am so excited to know what the sex will be so i can start!

11 WEEKS

Well we are ALREADY at 11 weeks, the time has honestly flown by but still so slow!
As you can see i am growing, i dont know if i quite qualify for a belly but i do have a tummy pooch! Sometimes it even surprises me to look down and see it there!

ASH:
I still have been sick sick sick! Over the last week i have had the flu and am now trying to recover all my fluids by drinking Pediasure. haha I have lived on those stick popsicles, pop ice, i think they are called, are wonderful before bed time. I feel like i have hit the "climax" of these symptoms, i wasnt throwing up till just recently, just nauseous all day. Now i am running to the bathroom all the time and always taking deep breaths to help my tummy. I have seen the biggest change (besides my tummy) in my back. its curving SO SO much. I already have a horrible back, and have to pop it through out the day, and now its really tight all the time and the base where my hip are is always pinched, so if you think about it, let this be my personal prayer request for you, besides the health of baby. thank you

You know you preg when... (inspired by jami, thanks :)

~You look for the crackers all over the house and find them in the fridge
~Your now getting a bit more hairy, my tummy has fuz all over it!
~You have a routein of crying every night due to sickness
~You take at least a bath everyday
~You have made your bath completely cold more then once on accident, and then cried about it
~I hate the smell of maple syrup, it smells like cat urine....gross!
~You can smell the chlorine in the shower
~Your pants and shirts are already getting tight (at 11 weeks crazy)
~ Your dear husband likes to make jokes and talk to baby through my belly button, and listen through it as well, just like a walkie-takie....!! haha

BABY:
Baby is about the size of a Lime! (already) Fingers and toes are no longer webbed, and hair follicles, tooth buds and nail beds are forming -- looking more and more like a baby! baby is moving, kicking, waving and even moving his fingers and toes...awww

This is all until tomorrow, i will post about the Dr. App!! YAY
